The Best of the Moms

Is it just me or do you smell excitement too? My favorite thing is a good ole-told out- STORY.
Meet My Mom-
She is FABULOUS. I think most moms are but I'm a little bias. She is the best mom! ;)
My mom has always been a generous SOUL. I got many of my attributes from my mom. This lady went off to college after high school in a different state than her family and got a bachelor's degree in Programming. Found her husband of now, 31 years. She worked, up until she had me (That means 2 kids before me, and all 9 months before I appeared). Wow! Eating apples on the bus to Denver while she had morning sickness.
She has had 6 biological children but I say that because she always took in those that would let her. My close friends could call my mom, Mom. My siblings usually had the same experience with their friends. She taught me that family can reach out and be more than blood. Everyone needs someone. Everyone can benefit from a loving family.
Some Amazing Other things my mom have taught me:
Always be on a journey to joy. You may feel pathetic, horrible, sad, or anything else but then be trying to find the source and the path out of that place.
You are worth so much! Each person has a grand amount of potential! Everyone. Each and every person.
Be Unique. SParklE. Don't be afraid to be different.
Love God. Pray to Him. He will guide you.
You will not be perfect.

I just asked her for her motto and she says, "Work hard, play hard!" She totally lives this. When she works, she puts herself into the work and gets things done. When she plays, she has so much fun and enjoys herself! She tries to balance both! I love that! Give time and energy to what you are doing.

Speaking of playing, she has passed on her love for games to me. Board games, card games, even a bit of video games. I have to remind myself not to get addicted to the games but I do enjoy games often. When we get together as family, we play games together.

After 30 years of being a mom, my mom is finally free from living with kids. Now I think you will love THIS story! My dad is another inspiring being that I think would take a blog post to share. (Insert Link Here?!) After years of hard service labor being a paramedic and firefighter, my dad had a change of heart. My parents up and left Arizona to go to Salt Lake City, Utah where my dad would become a flight attendant.

They left my 19 year old sister with my older sister renting their house. 5 of their 6 children live in Arizona (the other going to school in Idaho). So far, they have been doing well! My dad enjoys his career change and has less stress on the job. They get to visit often because of the free flights they receive from the airline. I almost feel like they didn't move sometimes.

What does my precious mom do with this 'free time' she has? She is a great tribute to our family! My mom is an AWESOME genealogist! She searches for people's family history and ancestors. That is something she loves to do. Honing in on her skills, she has found a great passion and a way to help others for her 'job'. If you want to check out more details on this pro- Go to

She has weekly tips and can answer questions! I love this Lady!

She says that if you are searching for your own inspiration you should pay attention to the little things that may not always seem like inspiration. Follow through with them and then you will see bigger inspiration come to you.

Inspired to Tell The Stories

I have been waiting so long to share share share my stories! Writing is such a fun outlet for me. There is something sweet about sharing what we are going through as humans with other seemingly normal-or very extraordinary people.

Everyone has gifts, trials, and talents. Some like to hide what they have or have been through. Maybe they just don't want to talk about it or wouldn't know how to.

I had a kind, older gentleman ask for help with his genealogy. He had been adopted and had nothing to do with his biological family. I tried asking some simple questions about his adoption but boy, did I strike a nerve! He talked about terrible abuse he had been through. Very brief. At that point, I was intrigued!  My curious mind raced with wonder. My next question was if he had done his own life history. I was astonished with his sudden change of demeanor.
"No!" he said. "I don't want to remember any of it." he continued to give a few more details.
I tried to explain that I was impressed that he come from such a difficult childhood and overcame. It grew awkward though, and he refused to talk about it anymore. He moved on. I continued to be in awe. His face showed no signs of a difficult past. His kindness and friendliness was open and genuine.

Now-

I'm not saying he should write his life story, although I think there is much to be gained from such an experience. I could tell it bothered him and he would rather not relive those moments. The small detail that he gave me was what I considered enough to be written down and inspire generations to come. I just wish he knew how to share a small amount to help others. Although he wanted his past to disappear, I felt it a shame that it would be lost history.

Let's share our stories!

The Good. The Bad. The Ugly.

There is no need to be alone in a world with BILLIONS of people.
